Match Report – Round 12 – Dukes Old Boys vs Fairvale/Lansvale

The hard work and determination that has been put in by the players over the last month has well and truly paid off as the Dukes recorded their third win of the 2015 season, beating out Fairvale/Lansvale in a bonus point win, 26-10.

The 14 point victory included the Dukes first intercept try of the year, credited to Matt Langford who ran 55 meters against the run of play to seal the Dukes victory. The three other 5 pointers were bagged by fullback James Hinds, and winger Neil who crossed the line twice.

Numerous other tries went begging due to called forward passes, knock ons or (in the case of President Emeritus – Phillip Tovey) being just centimeters short of grounding a ball from a charge down – in my opinion this would have been try of the season had he actually scored it!

This coming Saturday the Dukes will be looking to put up some stiff competition to ladder leaders Menai at their home ground.
