Round 9 Postponed – Pub Crawl Instead!

Botany Council has closed Booralee Park due to wet weather. Round 9 vs Dee Why will be postponed until next weekend, Saturday 11th June.

But every cloud has a silver lining. Wet weather ground closure means it’s a pub crawl instead! ⛈🏉🔁🍻

Balmain, 3pm, 10 pubs, 30 minutes at each.

Start and finish close to Balmain Wharf – easy to get a ferry to/from Circular Quay.

The theme is… WET WEATHER. Get creative. Raincoats, ponchos, gumboots, googles, snorkels… anyone that shows up in a SCUBA suit automatically wins best dressed.

Ladies Day 2016 – Raising Funds for BCNA

Ladies Day 2016This Saturday 21st May is Ladies Day 2016, set to be a cracking day with the Dukes coming up against the Manly Savers. Ladies Day is a long standing tradition of the Club, a day where we celebrate the women who both directly and indirectly contribute to the success of the Club.

A bold new drink choice will be added to the menu for the day, with champage available for all ladies. Following the game, everyone is invited back to our pub, The Captain Cook Hotel, for speeches, the boat race and an evening of karaoke.

Time for a pub crawl!

Shit SuitsWith the ANZAC Day long weekend upon us, the Meldrum Cup is taking a break this weekend. The Dukes need to fill the rugby void the only way they know how – with our first pub crawl of 2016! Sporting only the finest thrift shop threads, the boys will be making their way around The Rocks this Saturday on the Sh*t Suits Pub Crawl. Check out all details on our Facebook event.

Back to Booralee for Round 3

ROUND 3 2016

Last Saturday saw the Dukes with a round 2 bye, but a number of the boys made their way down to Booralee Park for a Saturday afternoon training session. Another good turnout at training on Wednesday night hopefully sets us up well for this weekend.

Tomorrow the Dukes will play their first home game for the year against Burraneer Rugby Club. It’s sure to be a tough, hard-hitting match. But the Dukes will be giving it their all, especially since we have another Saturday off next week for the ANZAC long weekend.

Round 3 - Dukes v Burraneer

Booralee Park
Meldrum Cup

Come down to Booralee Park for a 3:15pm kickoff (players check the Facebook group for info on warm-up times). After the game we’ll be having beers at our sponsor, the Captain Cook Hotel, and officially welcoming all our new players for 2016.

The Meldrum Cup Kicks Off

Subbies Rugby have made some exciting changes to this year’s competition.

The last two years’ northern Jeffrey Cup & southern Noice Cup conferences are being merged back in to a single Meldrum Cup competition.

Division six’s 15 clubs from all over Sydney will face each other once each. That will see the Dukes take to the field against some old friends (and old foes) we haven’t played in a few years.

The battle for the Meldrum Cup begins this Saturday, as the Dukes make a bus trip to the deep north to face off against Terrey Hills Mighty Wolves, last year’s Jeffrey Cup semi-finalists.

Check our event page for all the details.
